Suzanne Cory High School is a co-educational, selective entry government school for Years 9-12, and the only one of its kind in Melbourne's western suburbs.

Established in 2011, Suzanne Cory provides highly able students with an individually tailored and challenging educational experience, leading to outstanding outcomes and pathways into tertiary education. The school has a total enrolment of 900 students from Years 9 to 12 coming from 84 different schools of origin, with government and non-government schools equally represented.

The educational focus of the school is to provide a challenging and rigorous academic curriculum for students who are intellectually and creatively gifted, in conjunction with a rich co-curricular program designed to extend their learning.

The comprehensive curriculum and teaching and learning model practised within the school is based on internationally-recognised best practice research on students with high levels of achievement.

The Renaissance Person

Suzanne Cory High School was established in 2011 as a coeducational selective entry school in the western region of Melbourne. The school provides highly able students with an individually challenging educational experience leading to outstanding outcomes and pathways into tertiary education.

Enrolment Process

To be considered for a place at Suzanne Cory High School, prospective students must first sit a compulsory entrance examination. The entrance examinations occur mid-year for enrolment in the following year, and are conducted by the Victorian Department of Education and Training.

School Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed to meet the individual needs of students, compacting the school curriculum to enable a faster pace of learning, accelerating the entry of students into VCE as appropriate, and enriching and broadening the educational experience of our uniquely talented students.

Selective Entry Schools

In addition to our comprehensive school curriculum, Suzanne Cory High School offers students a robust Co-Curricular Program designed to develop students’ citizenship, creativity, and leadership skills, and both enriches and extends students learning and school engagement.

Selective Entry Schools

Suzanne Cory High School is one of only four Selective Entry Schools in Victoria. Unlike SEAL Programs, Selective Entry Schools are specifically designed for academically gifted students, and provide them with the environment and curriculum necessary to achieve their full potential.
