Tokyo International Progressive School

TIPS is an international school for grades 4 - 12 that provides alternative education for students with mild learning differences with academic, emotional and/or social challenges. Founded in 2000, TIPS is proud of the expertise of our staff and the results of our programs.

Based on their learning needs, all of our students are entitled to high quality instruction, including, as needed, differentiated instruction, specific seating, posted learning objectives, note-taking assistance, structured routines, color coding, assistive technology, movement breaks, chunking large assignments, simplified directions, check for understanding, use of timer, and support identifying and meeting deadlines.

The staff of TIPS includes a number of specialists to meet the learning needs of our students, including an occupational therapist, speech therapist, counselors, and learning support coordinator. Small academic classrooms for up to 10 students enable our students to receive extensive attention and support from teachers.

Approximately 85% of TIPS graduates attend post-secondary institutions worldwide.

TIPS is unable to meet the learning needs of those with extensive learning differences.
